Here is what I have: alice aka Tawiyaka age 71 full Blood. parents dead.
Spouse dead.

grandchild Jesse Ben aka hapanna Age 15 full blood. His parents are Wakanhditanka and Kimanuwastewin.Ref. is 1902 Reg. Santee Ind. Fam.
She was born 1824, died Sept. 30,1910.
Her 1/2 brother was Charles Stone.
Alice was a sister of Wanhditanka Ben , Tatiopawastewin and Charles Minnetonka aka Wanhega(sp).
the 1900 Census for Santee Knox, Ne lists Alice at @age 65 with a brother, Baptist Whipple- age-28, Mary Tuttle-sister in law-age 80,and Herbert Whipple-grandson Age 23.
I don't quite understand the connection to the Whipples in the 1900 Census, i am just posting what that census listed for her household then.

yeah I have that census also and am not sure what it means either. How do you figure Charles Stone is a half brother of Alice? Just a couple of days ago I came across her entry in the Santee Baptismal 1843-1904 record and it listed her parents. I am hoping to find out more about her parents and figure our the enlish name of Tatiyopawastewin. I think I mentioned this on another thread.

also to let you know that Jesse Ben was her nephew not grandson. Jesse is the son of her brother Wakanhditanka Ben.

Here is the information from an Affidavit as to Lawful Heirs, sworn to by Frank H. Young and B.J. Young re. Alice Stone or Tawayaka, that they were well acquainted with her and that they were well acquainted with the family history of
alice Stone or Tawayaka; that she died on or about the 30th day of September, 1910 at the of Eighty years, unmarried and without issue,leaving as her sole heirs at law the following named persons:
"Tatiyopawastewin, sister of Alice Stone Deceased, who died prior to the 1897, leaving as her sole heirs Ellen Tuttle, daughter Aged 5 years, residence Santee Nebraska.

Wakanhditanka, brother of Alice Stone,deceased who died prior to 1897 leaving as his sole heirs, Martha Maka,daughter aged 51 years,Julia Frenier,daughter,aged 38 years;Jesse Ben,son aged 24 years.

Wahndega, brother of Alice Stone deceased, who died prior to the year 1897 leaving as his sole heirs one daughter, Judith Wakeman, now deceased, who died June 6,1899, unmarried her husband died prior to her death leaving , surviving her the following named children;to wit Abigail Hemmenger daughter aged 32 years; Solomon Wakeman, son Aged 3_years(it was cut off the endof the page); John Wakeman, son aged 30 years; Jesse Wakeman, son aged 28 years, Ida C. Allen daughter aged 18 years; Peter Alex Wakeman, son aged 15 years. And that Alice Stone left no father nor mother nor husband no children andno brothers or sisters other than those named above."
I am sorry the Affidavit was not dated.

I do have a copy of her probate record. As you may have noticed there was no mention of her parents, or the English name of Tatiyopawastewin.

I too am trying to find out what English name she took. Surely, someone out there must have knowledge of her English Name.

Never mind, I re-read the above and see that she was his sister. Charley Minnetonka is my GGGgrandfather.

I know I posted it before in the Cekpawin Probate data in another section of our web site, but Cekpawin and her spouse had 5 children, and one of them was Tatiyopawastewin aka Sophia Shaker. I have not seen or found anything to say that this Tatiyopawastewin was anybody else.
